Just want to say that i had such a great diving experience with my instructor Dave. I'm an anxious diver and while doing my Advanced Certificate with Dave i gained so much more confidence, i'm now confident enough to go out just myself and a buddy.

Chris was a fantastic instructor and his enthusiasm was definitely contagious. My only regret was missing the Similan trips by a few days...an experience I've already recommended to many friends to do with Sunrise. |

Hi there, Just found the site from sunrise diving... I was in Patong last december and january and did my Advanced with Sunrise. Very Good diving school I must say !! I went to the Similan Islands with Steve (I think) as my instructor to do my exam dives and it was fan-tas-tic !!!!! Had a great nightdive. I expected it to be a bit scary but it was great ! Saw a lot of crab and lobster.. stuff you don't see at daytime. And Koh Bon was the best I've seen ever ! We saw so much manta's that we lost count... Really Cool... I will definately go back to Sunrise whenever I'm on Phuket again |

I recently obtained my PADI Licence with the Sunrise crew. My instructer for the three days was Chris ( aka Mr Cruise! ) Chris made everything so easy and explained every little detail to us so clearly!I found him and the staff at Sunrise so professional,and made my diving experience so amazing!Had so much fun for the the three days,but the most important thing was the safety and Chris ensured that everything we did was safe, which it was!!
Chris and the lads from Sunrise are sound top lads,and am heading back in November to do my advanced with them!
Chris thanks again for being patient and making it the best experience i've ever had!Will give you an email when im heading back to Phuket,take care mate, AWSOME!!! |

Hi Charlie, just want to say a huge thanks, not only to yourself but to the rest of the Sunrise Dive Team, along with the many customers and Friends who have studied with me...
The last 6 months have been a rollercoaster ride for me, achieving over 200 log dives in Thailand. I never imagined for one moment that my round the world trip would be cut short due to a passion to explore Diving as a career?. The Diving team have been outstanding giving me day to day support in each level of the Padi Continuous Education programme?.
You may recall that I came into your shop last November for a fun dive, at that time I had just passed my Open Water Course in England 4 days previously, You advised me to consider the next stage an ?Advanced Open Water Course? I think that?s when I first considered putting my travel plan on hold for a while and started to think of my future ? If you had ask me 6 months ago if I would still be involved in continuous education with Sunrise Dive team?, to passing my Open Water Scuba Instructors exams last Sunday? The reply would be ?Don?t Make me Laugh?! Honestly Guys you have been an inspiration, some of you know that I only learnt to swim 7 Months ago at 42, previously bath water was about as deep as I would get wet in.
Some special thanks go to Ryan who gave me inspiration and support all the way to Instructor, Steve for keeping it real, Damian for the Tech gas laws, Chris for the EFR training, Garth with Instructors Development Course prep, and the rest of the bunch for assisting in my day to day education?
Charlie you gave me one phrase that?s spoken in Thai ?Wan Nee Dee Mak Mak? - IT TRULY HAS BEEN - ?Happy Days?

Went on holidays with a mate (Charles) to Patong, Phuket during the second week of May '07. We hadn't planned on going scuba diving initially, but after meeting Chris from Sunrise Diving (who's enthusiasm & passion for diving is infectious!!) we were easily convinced. Both of us did the open water course with Chris as our Instructor (over 3 days). It was an amazing experience, and I am now definitely hooked...will be heading back to Sunrise Diving to be my Advanced course, that's for sure. I shopped around a bit, and Sunrise was by far the best dive facility I found in Patong, Phuket (also the cheapest from a couple advanced open water quotes I got). Did my advanced open water course with them (2 days, 5 dives). Real quality staff, great equipment, and no pressure vibe. Chris, from South Africa, was an awesome instructor. Very thorough, patient, and informed. We were just at the start of the low season, but the diving was great and sea not very rough. Racha Yai, shark point and the King Cruiser wreck dive were big highlights. You must do that wreck dive! Recommend Sunrise without hesitation. Hopefully will be back. |

Sunrise was the first dive shop we walked into on Phuket island in the first week of April'07. Stephen was very welcoming and open with his information which made us (dad + 2 kids aged 10 & 14) decide to sign up with sunrise quite easily. Our 10 year old, Ajit was on his first dive, and Mark was just great at building up his enthusiasm to the point that he was convinced he was going to have a ball, and so he did. Underwater, Dave stayed with Ajay and I while Mark watched Ajit. We all had a blast. Thanks to all of u, we r hooked on this sport ... the kids are talking certification now ! Dave and Mark made Ajit feel he was one of the best kid beginners they had met, and that can't be bad !
The water at the dive site was not the clearest, and we did have to wait a while before getting into the water, but it was still great fun. Mark got us some good underwater photos of our dive too.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Stephen and Dave for taking great care of myself my wife and 4 kids. We were in Phuket last month and did a refresher and the kids did try dives, both these guys were very patient and very professional, these two instructors are first rate. they really took care of us and made the would day a worth while experience. Hopefuuly we will be back at christmas and the kids all want to do their full certificate and hopefully if dave and stephen are still there then i would be more than happy for them to teach the kids. This is the second year in a row I have gone diving with Sunrise, this last trip April 17,2007 I did my advanced diving course. I got stuck with Mark as my instructor, what a jerk..hahaha Just kidding Mark was great, he was a great instructor, also a good guy, someone you could hang out with.
The rest of the staff are also fantastic, very friendly and helpfull, Damien and Charlie run a good shop.
I will be back next year, same time and will continue to use Sunrise to advance my diving experiences.

I did my Open Water at Sunrise and my wife (who just learnt to swim) did a discover scuba dive during my course. We chose Sunrise because they seemed to be the most friendly and competent-looking shop along the entire Patong stretch and we were glad we did!
We got Mark to be our instructor and he did a faboulous job teaching this newbie how to dive. When my wife got a bit scared underwater he even made sure she got comfortable again and got her to complete the whole dive and relax in the meantime. Great job! And thanks Mark!
The rest of the dive shop team were fantastic too; they sat down and answered our questions at length and didn't show signs of hurry even though we popped by at about 8 (close to closing time).
Damien says the equipment is changed once per year at least and our equipment certianly didn't look too worn (although I'm not a good judge of course), the gear worked just fine underwater and not a malfunction
Only thing is bring your own photo for the dive card: they insisted on doing my mug shot right after my last dive. And no time to powder my nose! (just kidding!)

My 2 friends and I dived with Sunrise in August 2006.
Racha Yai, King cruiser wreck (the first one in my life !!! so exciting !), Bida Nok and Turtle Bay in Koh Phi Phi... Really nice encounter with a shark and much more!
One of my friend went through her AOW course with Mark and it showed evidence of his experience and also good teaching skills.
My other friend and I only did fun dives and unfortunately, we did not have that much opportunity to dive again with him. We had to dive with Scandinavian divers and Euro Divers dive masters instead because of lack of availability. It was a pity because Mark was much more professional than one of the other divwe master we had. Though we enjoyed all dives.
Mark and Chris recommended to us to go to Similan Isalnds. This is for sure a place I'd like to go to. But for the time being, my next trip will be in Krabi and Koh Lanta. Too bad Mark or Chris cannot host me there !
If you want to dive in Phuket, Sunrise is the good place to go: good quality equipment, very professional instructors, friendly and helpful staff.

In travelling all the way from Montana(USA) we were definately not disappointed with our choice of dive shops. We finished our open water certification with Grahams help and it went great. Did some wonderful dives and had a lot of fun. Graham was a professional and instructor with a lot of patience too. James was also a great help on our fated Koh Bon dive. Sunrise organised a liveaboard trip to the Similan Islands for me in March. The staff were friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The dive shop was in a great location (easy to find) and the equipment is new and well maintained. One of the best dive shops in Thailand!
I also did the advanced open water course. My instructor (Ryan) was accomplished, professional and made the trip more enjoyable. When back in Thailand I'll be diving with Sunrise again ! |

as many have said already in the guestbook, Sunrise Diving guys Charlie and his crew make you feel welcome and at home the moment you walk into their shop.
me and my boyfriend went to Phuket on the last weekend of Jan 2007, for a long weekend getaway from Singapore to do my advanced open water in the beautiful waters of Phuket.
we hadn't booked any accommodation in advance and arriving in the morning we straight away went to the dive shop, where helpful Charlie tried to get us some place to stay.
i was the only student doing advanced that weekend and i had a one-to-one instructor! Actually it was a two-to-one, because besides instructor Graham, dive master trainee Tony followed us as well.
on the night dive and the daytrip to King cruiser/ shark point / Koh Dok Mai (which was really great!) my boyfriend could come along too as a leisure diver, so it was the 4 of us diving in a group. A very relaxed way to do my Advanced and really appreciated the flexible way in which everything was arranged and customised to give us a great time diving in Phuket.
