And i had this very crazy german instructor named Mark.
I can recomend him for everyone his very funny but when its about diving, then he´s very serios.
He did it very funny to take the certifikation and same time he maked me feel very safe. |

Me and my best fren decided on the very last minute to head down to phuket for a diving trip, and boy are we in for a pleasant surprise! We totally enjoyed ourselves through the trip and we were so well taken care of!
Stephen Longworth, our diving instructor, is totally responsible, alert, attentive and professional. He exhibits extensive information and understanding of the underwater world, and is so very informative. To top it all off, he has a wonderful sense of humour! I practically laughed all the way on my flight home, through my sleep, and only stopped laughing when I got hit by reality when I was back at work.
THANK YOU sunrise diving for making my short stay in Phuket such a memorable one! Oh yes, and diving will never be the same again... cos there will never be a better diving instructor than Stephen! |

I thought all you had to do to scuba is strap a tank to your back and jump in. But it's pretty challenging and fun too. We dove in Racha Yai off Phuket. The visibility was great. I saw a scorpion fish and a lion fish on my 3rd dive. I didn't know what they were at the time, so it's a good thing I didn't poke it like I wanted to.
I got certified at Sunrise Diving. My instructor was Stephen Longworth. I thought he did an excellent job and I'd highly recommend him. |

We came to Thailand almost solely for the diving and weren't disappointed. We spent a lot of time researching the different operators and almost decided on Sunrise before even leaving the UK. On arrival we went to the shop and our choice was made, Charlie and the guys were just fantastic.
Charlie helped us plan a three day trip to the Simialns on a livaboard and we took Stephen from Sunrise with us to do my Advanced Certification. This allowed us to have an instructor we had met and get a lot of the learning done before getting on the boat.
Whether you are looking for a try dive or to spend some serious time diving, these guys will make sure it goes smoothly and is the stuff dreams are made of.
To Sunrise: I can't thank you enough. If you ever set up in the Maldives, let me know, it is next on my agenda!! |

So, I landed in Phuket with all of the sites, sounds, and smells of this tropical paradise. I had come with the gaol to learn to scuba dive and get certified. I had no idea what to expect from the schools in the area but I was determined to find the right one and not get ripped off in the process. I stumbled upon Sunrise Diving and my choice was made the minute I walked through the door. The place was clean and bright and everyone there was friendly and ready to answer any questions that I had. I thought that the price was certainly very reasonable before I found out that everything was included from gear to learning materials and even three meals. Nick was my instructor and his patience was neverending. I got the feeling that he had a personal interest in watching my friend and I advance through the course. We were becoming friends and not just students. After each day, Charlie and his staff would ask us how things were going and if there was anything that we needed. I thank them all for ensuring a safe and very memorable experience. They have set the bar high for other dive schools elsewhere in the world that I might stumble upon. |

we are back in sydney and reality is starting to set in.the kids are going mental and the shopping bill for food just maxed my credit card out!!!!
I am writing this on behalf of both of us... We truly appreciate the professionalism and courtesy that you guys (all of you guys) provided us with whilst we were over there.
We were a little worried about doing the diving over there because a few friends had gone before us and found that they were allowed to go alot further down than their qualifications allowed them to.
From the onset Charlie and the staff were paramount about how they conduct business and we felt at ease. We knew that our safety was not going to be compromised.
Your warm natures and friendly staff are a compliment to your business and we are so glad that you continued to operate after the tsunami that wiped the shop completely.

What an excellent 4 day Open Water Course! Unbelievably good and I had absolutely no reason to be so terrified Huge thanks to Greg for getting my pal Emma back in the pool and convincing her to continue despite her fears! Hope your collarbone is healing quickly and you'll be back in the sea in no time. Thanks also to Chris, you were very patient with us and made the theory far easier to understand. Sunrise Diving did an excellent job putting together a complete dive package for a 7 day stay. We had a great liveaboard experience put together by Damian. The diving was as good as I've seen anyplace in the world. Chris did an excellent job getting my buddy AOW certified during the trip. Chris was very professional and very attentive to make sure the course was a positive experience. Including the rental gear in the price of the diving was a great cost saver. Finally when a problem developed with our planned dives, Damian made it right when many dive operations would have just shrugged their shoulders. A professional operation with quality people and equipment.

Great diveschool Sunrise. I passed for my open water with Charlie and
his dive instructors. After this we made al lot of dive near Racha Yai.
(we have seen a lot of great things, including very impressive madding
cuttlefish). Were definitely coming back for our Advanced Course, so
Charlie make sure the coffee is ready!!!

Great enjoyment, walked into the shop on the beach and two days later I am taking my PADI open water dive course, two weeks later I took my advanced. Excellent staff, boat, equipment and diving. For a guy like me, who was not even confident with snorkelling, it was a big step to jump in the water with a tank and breathe underwater!
Professionalism and patience by Charlie and his team, not least my instructor Johnny, made it possible and even fun! for me to do the Open Water and then the Advanced course!

Charlie if this is the dive Steve Brad and myself were on, customer service was fantastic.. Dealing with you guys was by far the easiest and most pleasant interaction of my trip.
We ended up back at the bar and had dinner, along with what seemed to be an endless line of beer/tequila/shooters, played pool with some of your guys and their ladies.
The location you have is bloody great. Nice sea breeze through the bar kept us cool and the view out to the ocean is very nice.
Keep up the good work Charlie and Co. A trip on a boat with you guys would add to anyones holiday experience.

He sums up everything. It was my first diving course experience, and every member of the dive school was great. If there was any question i had in reference to the water or out of the water, it was answered.
I mean if u ask urself what is customer service, its applying to the customers needs and wants. Charlie and Co definately know how to achieve that!

Well what can we say.. the Customer Service was excellent.
We are now certified open water divers thanks to Charlies team, and in return, we demanded ****tails!
An absolutely great work/life balance - a hard days diving (and it is work!) then have fun with the team when you get back to base!
Would recommend Sunrise Diving to anyone!

I did both my open water and my advanced with Charlie Bird. I met him by chance and ended up doing some diving. He is a superb teacher, with a great deal of enthusiasm. He teaches in a way which develops confidence, without feeling like an amatuer. For me feeling safe was paramount, and throughout my time diving with Charlie i have always felt in capable hands. His approach is down to earth, which is important as it makes diving a fun experience, at the same time as it being a learning one.

Well, i did the open water course in mid nov 05, and i must say not only my instructor was ace but so where all the staff.
Thanx to Nick, he did everything step by step, clearly and calmly. Not much else to say other than he was awesome!
As to charlie, who convinced not only myself and my friends that also did the course, that this was simply the best place to get ur licence. He knew what he was talking about, and he was honest.
Putting aside the water activities, the 'social bonding' (getting wasted at the dive school's bar) at the end of the course just simply put the icing on the cake. Great people to learn from, and great people to have fun with! |

Value for snorkeling is great.
Roughly $50 aussie dollars for an 8am pickup, breakfast, free softdrinks, lunch, great scenery, great people, fantastic boat, the clearest water i've seen, professional top notch staff, and a ride home by 7pm?? Bloody great value. |

The best dive site / dive you had in Thailand
I love the shallower dive sites,so for me Racha Yai has to be the favourite. Staghorn Reef, and Lucys Reef both offer great diving opportunities. The visibility is usually spot on, and everytime i dived there i saw something different.
Phi Phi is also fantastic, and the scenery is spectacular both under and above water, |
