Why enroll on a PADI Junior Open Water Course?

As a certified PADI Junior Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world,

you have the freedom to dive to a depth of 12 metres/40 feet with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian.
If you have already tried the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience with Sunrise Diving or are PADI Junior Scuba Diver certified
we can accredit your experience towards the open water certification.

What do I need to begin?

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit,
and between the ages of 10 - 14 to begin the PADI Junior Open Water Diver program.

What will I do during my course?

You will take part in theory training by using the PADI Open Water manual,
DVD and classroom sessions with your PADI Instructor to learn the basic theory behind diving.
You will take part in confined water training and learn about scuba diving equipment
and become familiar and comfortable under the water, in a swimming pool or in shallow sea water.
You will apply what you have learned in the theory and confined water sessions and complete
a total of four open water ocean dives to a maximum depth of 12 meters.

What is included within my course?

The course includes use of all diving equipment, manuals and all PADI certification costs.

How long does it take?

PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills.
This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you. Usually 3 days.

Where can I go from here?

The PADI Junior Open water Certification will allow you to participate in diving activities with a maximum recommended
depth limit of 12 meters and continue onto the PADI Junior Advanced Diver course.

When can I start my course?

Sunrise Diving run Open Water Diving Courses on a daily basis so you can start as soon as you are ready.

Costing for the PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course:

14,000 Thailand Baht per person.

So, I landed in Phuket with all of the sites, sounds, and smells of this tropical paradise. I had come with the gaol to learn to scuba dive and get certified.

I had no idea what to expect from the schools in the area but I was determined to find the right one and not get ripped off in the process.

I stumbled upon Sunrise Diving and my choice was made the minute I walked through the door.

The place was clean and bright and everyone there was friendly and ready to answer any questions that I had.

I thought that the price was certainly very reasonable before I found out that everything was included from gear to learning materials

and even three meals. Nick was my instructor and his patience was neverending.

I got the feeling that he had a personal interest in watching my friend and I advance through the course. We were becoming friends and not just students.

After each day, Charlie and his staff would ask us how things were going and if there was anything that we needed.

I thank them all for ensuring a safe and very memorable experience.

In travelling all the way from Montana(USA) we were definately not disappointed with our choice of dive shops.

We finished our open water certification with Grahams help and it went great. Did some wonderful dives and had a lot of fun.

Graham was a professional and instructor with a lot of patience too. James was also a great help on our fated Koh Bon dive.
